One commission is recorded per payment a referred shop makes. The sum is your rate multiplied by what Progus actually receives from that payment. Both halves of that sentence surprise people, so take them one at a time.
Commission is a share of the net revenue Progus receives, after the app store has taken its own cut. It is not a share of the price on the merchant invoice. A shop paying for a $99 plan does not produce a commission calculated on $99, because that is not the amount that reaches us.
Your level is checked at the moment the payment is recorded, and the rate is stored with that commission for good. Reaching a higher level does not go back and top up older commissions. Falling to a lower level does not take anything back from them either.
Two consequences worth planning around:
Anything a shop pays while you are still on Bronze is recorded at 0% and stays at 0% forever.
Getting to two active referrals early is worth more than getting there eventually, because only payments recorded afterwards carry the higher rate.
Open Payouts and click any row in Payment History to see that month in detail. The Transactions List shows Date, App, Customer ID and Your Share, one line per payment, so you can see exactly what each shop produced.
